"Roadkill
"- The entire Social Series
started when I had to stop and remove a
huge piece of delaminated truck tire
from the roadway. My thought was,
"Now, what can I do with THIS?"

"Day at the Shore" was created during
the time all the medical waste was
washing up onto the New Jersey
beaches, or "shore," as dey sez dere.

"Cracked" came about because a
childhood friend got himself entangled
for years in the grips of drugs, alcohol
and cigarettes- he's dead now.

"Federal Solution" was originally about
the EPA "Superfund", with the events of
today, let's just say it is all about
government overspending, in general.

"Elephants Never Forget" illustrates the
cycle of the abused child becoming the
abuser adult.

"Freedom of Choice" got its title from an
ad promotion by the 7-11 chain- (IRONY
ALERT!) The victim of crime usually has
no freedom of choice

"Not So Grate to Be Home" was used as a
showcased artwork to highlight the 2007
Annual Freddie Mac Caregivers' Awards
presentation of a large grant to
Community Ministries of Montgomery
County (MD)-CMMC
for their works on
behalf of the homeless.

The pieces included in
The SOCIAL SERIES
are a SET, and I don't anticipate
breaking up by the set by selling only
one.
I have had several offers for
"CRACKED"- in fact, it was STOLEN
from storage and taken to California
for several years after I refused an
offer. But by a strange quirk of fate,
the US Army man was transferred
back to the Washington DC area, and
the very recognizable piece was
spotted by one of my collectors in an
elevator as it was being carried up to
the thief's office at Walter Reed
Army Medical Hospital.
